Agada Treatment Protocols:

Visha Chikitsa OPD adopts new treatment protocols for case to case and based on vyadhi samprapti.

  1. Rakta Mokshana( Jaluka/Leech Therapy): In cases requiring detoxification, rakta mokshana (blood purification) is performed using Jaluka (leech therapy) to remove toxins from the blood. This method is particularly effective for venomous bites or severe toxicity, as the leeches help draw out impure blood, promote detoxification, and improve circulation. This is effective not only in acute/chronic poisoning, it can also be utilized effectively for various skin diseases management.
  2. Dhara and Lepa: In the management of skin conditions, stings and bites (symptomatic), dhara (continuous pouring of medicinal liquids) and lepa (application of therapeutic pastes) are effective treatments. Dhara helps soothe inflammation and improve circulation by continuously applying medicated liquids, often used for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and post-poisoning inflammation. Lepa is applied to treat topical wounds, rashes, and skin infections, promoting healing and detoxification. This therapy is particularly beneficial for allergic reactions, burns, and skin irritation caused by toxins, helping to calm the skin and accelerate recovery.
  3. Management of Post bite complications:
Post snake bite, the OPD utilizes rakta mokshana, siravedha, and dhara to manage the effects such as swelling, pain, and tissue damage. The treatment aims to detoxify the body, reduce venom-related symptoms, and facilitate the healing of the affected areas.
  4. Shodhana chikitsa:: Visha Chikitsa OPD incorporates all Panchakarma Chikitsa (Shodhana) for detoxification to remove unwanted as well toxic metabolites from the body. Visha chikitsa opd  of SAMC&H incorporate Hrudayavarana chikitsa effectively in many conditions acute as well as Post with commonly used Agada aushada.
